Updated over 4 years ago

Starting to use Jottacloud to Backup, Sync, or Store your data requires you to complete three easy steps:

1. Sign up for a Jottacloudaccount.

If you want to sign up for a private account, click here
If you want to sign up for a business account, click here

You will initially sign up for a free account, but you can upgrade it at any time by logging onto www.jottacloud.com, and then select "My account" and "Subscription". You can also use one of the many "Upgrade now" links you will see both on the webpage and in the Jottacloud software.

The "Sign-up form" for a private account is very easy to fill in (see below). Remember that the e-mail and username has to be unique, so you cannot sign up several account with the same e-mailadress for example.

Please store your password in a safe place e.g. a passwordbank, for future reference.

2. Download and install the Jottacloud application on your devices

To setup Backup or Sync on one of your devices, you will need to download and install the client that matches your device. We are currently supporting devices that use the following operating systems: Windows, macOS, Android and iOS.

You will always find the latest versions of the Jottacloud software here

Take care to read and follow each step in the installation wizard closely, so that you set up Jottacloud in the way that suits your needs the best

3. Select folders for Sync and/or Backup.

You will now define which folders you want to upload to Jottaclouds' servers, by adding them to either the syncfolder "Jottacloud" or by adding them to the "Backup" tab in the Jottacloud software.

The same folder cannot be added to both Backup and Sync, you will have to choose which system you use for each folder. To read more about the difference between Sync and Backup, click here.
