Activate and Use Jottacloud in the iOS Files App

Learn how to integrate our cloud with the iOS Files app for seamless file management on your iPhone or iPad.

Updated over a week ago

Our cloud is integrated with the iOS Files app. This means that all files stored in our cloud also can be made available in the Files app on your device. You must activate our cloud in the Files app yourself.

Benefits of activating our cloud in iOS files:

By activating our cloud in the files app, you will experience our cloud as a more natural and integrated part of your iPhone and iPad (like iCloud Drive) as your files become more accessible. This is because the information flows seamlessly between the two apps. You can organize, edit, and create new files on your iPhone or iPad, and save them directly to our cloud. In other words, no manual upload and download when changing files or saving new ones - it's automatic!

With our cloud activated in the Files app you can:

  • Select stored files from our cloud as attachments

  • Save attachments directly to our cloud

  • Move files and folders from other storage locations to our cloud

  • Save new files directly to our cloud

How to activate our cloud in the iOS Files app:

  1. Open the Files app on your iOS device

  2. Click "Browse" in the bottom right corner

  3. Click "More Locations"

If "More Locations" do not show up as an option, you might not have the latest version of our mobile app. Go to the App Store and update.

If you have the latest version of our cloud, but still can't see "More Locations," click the 3 small dots in the top right corner to edit.

  4. Turn on our cloud and click "Done" in the top right corner

How to select files from our cloud as attachments:

  1. Select our cloud from "Locations"

You can automatically be taken to iCloud Drive when you try to upload attachments. If you are taken straight to iCloud Drive or somewhere other than our cloud, click "Browse". You will then get an overview of all your available locations

  2. Select where in our cloud you want to upload the attachment from - Archive, Backup or Sync

  3. Click the file you want to add as attachment

How to save attachments directly to our cloud:

  1. Click the attachment to open preview

  2. Click the option menu in the top right corner

  3. Select "Save to Files"

  4. Click on our cloud and select where in our cloud you would like to save the attachment - Archive, Backup or Sync

  5. Save to an existing or new folder

    • Save to existing folder
Select the folder you want to save the attachment to by clicking it. Then click "Save" in the top right corner

    • Save to new folder
Click the new folder icon in the upper right corner. Give the folder a name and click "Done". Then click "Save" in the top right corner to save the attachment to the new folder
