Step-by-step guide on how to download/restore files and folders in the desktop application.

Updated this week

In this help article, we explain how to download/restore files and folders in our desktop application.

How to download files and folders:

No matter where you download from, you can always double-click a folder to open it and right-click to access the download option. All saved files and folders can be found in the application.

Below, you will find instructions on how to download from backups, synchronization, and archive.

Download from Backups:

  1. Click on "All your backups" under Backup in the desktop application.

  2. From the "All your backups" overview, double-click the device you want to download from.

  3. Find the files and/or folders you want to restore (you open folders by double-clicking them).

  4. Select a file or folder by clicking on it – you will then get the option to "Select all" or "Download". You can also right-click a file or folder to download it.

Note: Files and/or folders from your current device are not available for download, as they already exist on your device.

Download from the Sync folder:

Files and/or folders in the Sync folder already exist locally on your device. You need to move them out of the local Sync folder to download them from our cloud service.

  1. Open "Sync" in our desktop application.

  2. Click "Open Sync Folder".

  3. Move the files and/or folders out of the local Sync folder to another local folder.

If you want to remove a folder from Sync, please read this help article.

Download from the archive:

  1. Open "Archive" in our desktop application.

  2. Double-click folders to open them.

  3. Right-click files and/or folders to download them.
